ERDAS Program

CSU campus Remote Sensing annual subscriptions through the GIS Specialty Center enable campuses to participate in a site license from Leica Geosystems for ERDAS Imagine, which provides significant benefits in support of campus remote sensing and image processing activities:

1. Site License for ERDAS Imagine.

Each campus will get up to 35 seats of Imagine Professional, Vector, Virtual GIS, OrthoBASE (with version 8.7 this is replaced by the Leica Photogrammatic Suite [LPS]), and Stereo Analyst.  Any other modules will be sent at the discretion of ERDAS and will be limited to the user who requests it. Certain third party products may be available at an additional fee.  This can be negotiated per campus. Each campus will receive one set of full ERDAS Imagine Media and Documentation.  All are shipped to Jerry Davis and distributed by the CSU GIS Specialty Center to all other campuses.

2. Technical Support Program

Limited hardware and software installation and consulting services will be provided by the CSU GIS Specialty Center at SFSU. Any questions not addressed by the GIS Specialty Center will be referred directly to ERDAS. In addition, software technical support via telephone and email is available from ERDAS (through one designated representative on each campus).

3. RS Training Programs

Another significant benefit is remote sensing and image processing training for faculty and staff. This includes two vendor-based training conducted by ERDAS at CSU facilities (one in the North, one in the South). At each of these trainings five CSU members may participate. In addition, the GIS Specialty Center is in the process of developing additional training courses and workshops from the excellent resources within our own community.
